Frequently asked questions

Is the original layout preserved?

Text, paragraphs and reading order are preserved. Complex columns, images and tables are simplified into plain paragraphs, so treat the result as an editable draft rather than a pixel copy.

Why does my converted file look empty?

Your PDF is probably a scan with no text layer. Run it through our OCR PDF tool first, then convert the searchable PDF to Word.

Do you keep a copy of my document?

No. The conversion runs entirely inside this browser tab.

Good to know

A PDF stores positioned text runs rather than paragraphs, so any converter has to infer where lines and paragraphs begin. We group runs by their position on the page, which reconstructs readable, editable text reliably while leaving heavy layout work to you.
